This city, located in the Podorlicko region, is nestled in a picturesque valley at the confluence of the Tichá Orlice and Třebovka Rivers. Its founding dates back to roughly the second half of the 13^th century. In 1991, the historical center of the city – with its nearly perfectly square-shaped town square with its covered arcades and period buildings – was designated a historically protected urban zone. You can spend your holiday actively; the Orlické Mountains are only 30 km away, or sightseeing­– we particularly recommend the chateau castle Litomyšl.

Tourist attractions in the town and surrounding areas

• Litomyšl Chateau - Built in the second half of the 16th century, the chateau is one of the most important Renaissance-era landmarks in the Czech Republic. It is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The chateau is located 18 kilometers from Ústí nad Orlicí.
• Říčky and Čenkovice Ski Resort in Orlické hory Lake Pastviny - This manmade lake is located about 25 kilometers from Ústí nad Orlicí and, in the summer, it is a popular recreation and fishing spot
