Basilica of St. John
The Basilica of St. John, built by Stengel from 1754-1758 shows the baroque beauty of the 18th century. It was awarded with the title "basilica minor" by the pope. Worth seeing are the bronze doors and the entrance, designed by the Saarbrücken artist Ernst Alt. The organ is remarkable. It consists of three independent organs, the main organ and the two choir organs. They can be played separately or together. The St. Johann’s organ thus includes 60 speaking stops with a total of 4312 pipes. It is an outstanding and versatile instrument - known far beyond the city of Saarbrücken and Saarland.

Old bridge
1546 built by Charles V - one of the oldest buildings in the city.
It connects the districts of Alt-Saarbrücken and St. Johann. Of the original 14 arches, 8 remain. Destroyed during the Second World War, it was again repaired and shortened in the early 60s.

Fröschengasse
The former craftsmen and workers' houses of the Fröschengasse were partially attached to the former city wall. Since 1978, the alley has been restored in the Baroque style. Restaurants with beautiful courtyards invite you to linger.
