Spain's third-largest city. Located on the Mediterranean coast, just before the Balearic Islands. The city boasts impressive futuristic architecture, a colorful old town and bustling beaches.

Tourist attractions in the town and surrounding areas

  • The City of Arts and Sciences: a futuristic complex devoted to scientific and cultural dissemination which is made up of six main elements: an IMAX cinema (Hemisfèric), a landscaped vantage point (Umbracle), the Science Museum, the largest aquarium in Europe (Ocenogràfic), the opera house (Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía) and a multi-functional space (Ágora).
Plaza de la Virgen: on the site that once was the forum of Roman Valencia. It houses three of the main buildings of the city: the cathedral, the church of Nuestra Señora de los Desamparados and the Generalitat Palace. From the cathedral’s bell tower “El Miguelete” you can enjoy amazing views of the city, even the sea.
  • The silk market: the main monument of the city and a masterpiece of civil Gothic architecture. The building has been declared by UNESCO as part of Humanity's Heritage.
  • The Albufera Nature Park: a freshwater lagoon located 10 km outside the city where we can find local flora and fauna in its wildest state. The natural life of the lake coexists in harmony with traces of agricultural, fishing and culinary traditions and unique way of life as represented by the local "barraca" houses. It is an important stopover point for migratory birds and a nesting area for resident birds.
  • Valencia Beaches: a stretch of over 50 km of beaches. Just a few minutes outside the center of the city, you’ll find the Las Arenas and Malvarrosa beaches alongside the rambling Paseo Marítimo, the perfect spot to enjoy some paella or a drink. For those who prefer something a bit more natural, right beside the Albufera Nature Park you can find the El Saler beach.
